Healthy Eating On the Go!

Always on the go?

Here’s how to maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle even if you are always in a rush.

1. Make a plan - planning out your meals and snacks will not only save you time but also money. If you like to meal prep, set aside a few hours on the weekend to set yourself up for the week. If meal prepping is not your thing, consider batch cooking. When you do take the time to cook, make enough to have leftovers for a couple of days.

2. Stock up on snacks that will help you power through your day. Some examples can be fresh fruit and vegetables with nuts or nut butter, a protein bar, dried beans, or a protein shake.

3. Research healthy restaurants around you that you can grab a balanced meal at. Places like Chipotle, Bolay, or Sweetgreen are great options that can be tailored to meet your nutrition needs.

4. Prioritize eating whole foods and avoid skipping meals. While it may be tempting to reach for the quickest option or even skip a meal, this can backfire quickly. Going into a meal when we are starving can make it difficult to listen to our hunger and fullness cues and practice mindful eating. Make sure to take a break throughout the day and nourish your body!
